The Futureheads, have collaborated with iconic artists including David Shrigley, Pete Fowler and Stuart Semple to create a series of limited edition prints, raising money for Newcastle based charities with all of the artists generously giving their time for free. The project came about as the band discussed ways to celebrate their 10th birthday, ahead of their ‘Futurefest’ gig on the 23rd December in Newcastle. For the ‘FH10’ project the band sent each one of the artists an album, and asked them to respond to its music as if creating the album cover for the first ever time.
Pete’s inspiration comes from his daily life, psychedelic motifs, monsters and landscapes. Forming a backdrop to his ever growing family of characters and creatures, his work inhabits a world where character design meets music and art in a weird and wonderful way.
That world is Monsterism Island, a place where banjos are played by horned owls and synths tweaked by mutant horses. His unique instantly recognizable approach and sense of playfulness and visual adventures that have brought his work to the attention of people around the world.
This Is Not The World (2008) is signed by the artist and is a limited edition print number 50 of 100. The piece comes framed 375 x 385 (unframed 300 x 300mm).http://monsterism.net/
